Description of my Bar Exam tutoring style

My tutoring approach for the Bar Exam is twofold. For the essay portion of the test I have outlines for each of the subject areas that I crafted based on what has actually been on the test in the last 10 years. Most of them are only a page or two long so your study time will be much more efficient. I also will look at your previous essays and tell you where you missed out on points, and grade a good number of practice essays for you.

For the Multi-state portion of the test I also have outlines for each subject. These areas of law are so expansive that a lot of times people miss really important rules of law because they are trying to learn everything in the BarBri outlines. In addition to these outlines I like to use the PMBR practice questions because they are much closer to the multi-state questions than BarBri's practice questions. If you don't have PMBR materials I can supply you with those.

My basic philosophy is to focus on the areas that actually get tested frequently, whereas BarBri is comprehensive, but gives way more information than anyone could internalize. My role is to help you to know where to spend your time to get the biggest payoff in terms of score.

My schedule is very flexible. I generally like to do 2 hour sessions, meeting at a bookstore or library. I am always available by phone or email between sessions to answer any questions that may come up.

Bio Andrew Jones is a practicing attorney and part-time musician who tutors students for the Bar Exam and the LSAT. Andrew spent 3 years teaching for a national test prep company, where he taught classes and tutored hundreds of students one-on-one. Andrew's students frequently remark on his laid-back nature, and how it makes them feel at ease when preparing for what can be very nerve-wracking tests. Don't be fooled though, Andrew will work extremely hard to make sure you stay motivated to do your absolute best. Education Andrew has a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He graduated from West Chester University with a BA in Philosophy and minors in Anthropology/Sociology and Peace and Conflict Studies. He is a licensed attorney in Pennsylvania.
